Setting the Stage for a Flawless Tan

1.

The more time you spend preparing for your spray tan, the better your results will be. Using the right techniques and products in the days leading up to your session helps maximize both color and longevity.

2.

Our skin naturally regenerates every month, but proper exfoliation, shaving, and moisturizing can help extend your tan. Start prepping 72 hours before your session for the best results.

3.

Think of spray tan prep as a two-step process: exfoliate and hydrate 72-24 hours before, then let your skin get slightly "thirsty" 12-24 hours before to ensure your tan develops evenly and lasts longer.

4.

Using the wrong products or skipping prep can lead to uneven color, patchiness, and an undeveloped tan, so proper preparation is key.

5.

Prep and post-care products are essential for a flawless spray tan. While your usual products might not be ideal, I’ve put together a list of what to adore—and what to ignore—for the best results.

6.

In the final hours before your tan, remove all makeup, lotions, and moisturizers to allow your skin to absorb the solution properly—clean but never too dry is the goal!

Post-Tan Clothing

Please wear loose, dark clothing after your session to prevent color transfer and allow for even tan development. Think of it as your ‘tan-marinating’ ensemble!

Maintaining Your Tan

For a regular tan, I recommend showering no sooner than 8 hours post spray. For a rapid tan, I recommend no sooner than 2 hours (the longer you wait, the darker the color). This should be a quick rinse with no soap. Once dried, moisturize your face and body. Remember, your tan will continue to develop for the next couple of hours, enhancing the color even more!

Moisturize at least once a day with the right products to keep your tan looking its best. Avoid anti-aging skincare, exfoliants, and anything that speeds up skin shedding (like scrubbing or frequent shaving). Proper aftercare ensures the longest-lasting glow!
